While I bemoan cinema's long-standing preference for muted green and gray tones that treat bold colors as vulgar, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie swings so far in the opposite direction that its palette becomes visually aggressive. The most jarring segment occurs in a casino, where every surface is another gaming area. Horvath and Jelenic cram each shot with characters, objects, and clashing hues. Greens, pinks, and blues vie for attention as Peach disputes with a grumpy frog character named Wart. Every frame feels overcrowded, reminiscent of a child's sticker collection.
